Public lecture

My lecture relates to construction of Bejing Olympic stadium. At the beginning, with much sense of humor, author introduced about himself about his jobs, experiences, hobbies and family, which made all auditions laughed and felt well-know, and close to him. His name is Stephen Burrows. He has become an architect in more than 20 years. History of his job made people understand how huge his experiences are.
After that, he gave us many examples of previous stadiums constructions on the world to prove his improvement in designing the Bejing Olympic stadium. Finally, he explained many complex details of Olympic stadium construction such as yin-yang rule in Chinese culture, bird’s nest, bowl and columns structures… Thanks to his explanation, we can imagine how amazing this construction is. In fact, we were very excited when knowing it was designed based on structures of nature and Chinese traditional cultures.
His explanations were so clear and well-organized that people who aren’t specialists in designing could understand many specific details. Moreover, he used many realistic and funny pictures and examples to describe his ideas interestingly.
In short, this lecture helps us not only to understand some details construction of the Bejing Olympic stadium but also to learn some experiences in presenting a lecture in front of many audiences.
